"NCER
National Reference Data now available in 4Matrix "
 |
The
National Consortium for Examination Results (NCER)
is an organisation which assembles examination
results each year and makes them available to
LAs. All LA's are members of NCER.
NCER is the official source of examination data
which is used by LAs in their work with schools.
As such, NCER source data is the best reference
point for school performance data. |
This
year, NCER has kindly agreed to make the national comparative
subject performance data available to us to use in
4Matrix.
The significance of this is that all the calculations
used by 4Matrix, its displays and reports currently
uses historical published data, adjusted from year
to year. As such it is close to, but not exactly
the same as, the data published by NCER.
From this year 4Matrix school applications will be
built using the official NCER comparative subject
reference data, and will produce reports which provide
exactly the same measures as in official assessments
produced by LAs. In relation to Ofsted inspection
4Matrix reports will now be more exact, rather than
indicative.
We are very grateful to Peter Richmond, Secretary
of NCER, for making it possible for us to make use
of NCER reference data in this way
