Copyright
statement
All designs, features and methods for the 4Matrix software are
the copyright of New Media Learning Ltd. 2002, 2003,
2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
No permission is granted for any re-use of this software, or
alteration to its code, re-use of its methods, or the creation
of look-alike products that make use of the intellectual property
intrinsic to the function of the 4Matrix software.
In particular, the graphical representation of comparative achievement,
the technique for analysing a graph into a commentary, and the
wording of that commentary, is exclusively our copyright.
The model of self-evaluation that we use, based on highlighting
issues, researching comparative achievement and then adding school
contextual comments to the reports, is our copyrighted method,
developed over many years of working with schools. Reproduction
in part or in whole of our representations, our techniques, or
our methods, is a breach of our copyright and we will pursue
such breaches to the full extent of the law.
We are interested in proposals to make 4Matrix inter-operate
with other MIS systems and data tools. It is not our policy to
duplicate the function of software already in the marketplace,
and we expect this courtesy from other developers. We aim to
collaborate with all companies who specialise in supplying data
services to schools, to mutual advantage, and to the benefit
of schools themselves.
We request that national bodies acknowledge 4Matrix as a source
when referring to methods, phrases or techniques that we have
originated, or to comments or perspectives that have been made
available from this site and during the course of our work.
We request that individuals responsible for data analysis in
schools and other institutions and organisations do not dissassemble
our software, attempt to make use of our source code or our methods
in extending the functionality of their own data analysis systems,
and we ask them to note that i) to do so makes them personally
liable for any damages that may result on the exposure of their
actions, and ii) we are usually willing to supply our software
without charge to individuals interested in working with us to
improve or extend it.
For all enquiries about the possible extension of use of this
software, or co-development proposals, please contact us at contact@4matrix.org
in the first instance. |
