Primary
4Matrix now under test
trans4M is the
new primary school version of 4Matrix designed to provide
Primary schools with a complementary range of performance
data to RAISEonline. This version will measure the value
added from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, across a range
of school-contextual criteria. New techniques, developed
from use at Key Stage 4, can now reveal a greater range
of performance information at pupil and group level than
has been previously available. Ofsted expect primary
schools to show that they are acting on a full range
of performance data. This new set of tools will provide
all the key performance information that is needed.
trans4M will
extract data from a school MIS and
combine it with additional contextual
information provided by the school.
It will then perform a comparative
analysis and show all Within School
Variation factors for different subjects,
groups, special needs categories, ethnic
categories, class sets, selected categories
etc. Comprehensive reports shows measures
for all school variation factors. Headteachers
can use this information to demonstrate
to an Ofsted team how school performance
plans are geared to ironing out variations
and improving equality of provision.
