The Data Confident School

'The Data Confident School' is a 2-3 hour, in-school, interactive session designed for senior and middle leaders on using data for school effectiveness. This support programme includes the supply of the complete 4Matrix research toolkit*, with installation and staff training.

 . 4M Forecaster for forecasting achievement in 2008
 . 4Matrix Value Added Variation toolkit - to contrast with CVA data

The session covers
:

Teachers on 4Matrix course

. National developments in the use of electronic data
. The challenge of RaiseOnline and Panda CVA vs independent school measures
. The real standards agenda - 'Within School Variation' - how to measure it and act on it
. How performance tools can support a cycle of research, analysis and action planning
. The role of senior leaders and subject leaders in the assurance of standards
. How a school can become data-confident and offer robust numerical evidence for the SEF
. Using the Action Research Toolkit to identify factors for improving teaching and learning


The session is structured, yet informal, and supported by course materials.
It can be adapted to fit particular requirements.
A limited number of dates for these events are offered each term.
